Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital
New Hospital Ownership
Dr. Russell and Dr. Shaw have worked diligently since 1993 to bring caring and competent veterinary service to Kent Island and the surrounding communities. During that time, they have met and made friends with many wonderful people and animals. However, they have decided it is time for someone else to nurture and grow the fine traditions that have defined Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital (CVH) over the last 37 years. In May 2018, ownership of CVH was transferred to Dr. Matthew Busick.
Dr. Busick shares Drs. Russell and Shaw’s views on the importance of preventive medicine and he will continue to provide you with the personalized care to which you have been accustomed. He looks forward to continuing to be a big part of the Kent Island community in the years to come.
Becoming the owner of CVH fulfills a dream for Dr. Busick. He started with CVH in 1997 as a kennel attendant, worked many years as a technician, and ultimately went on to veterinary school. Dr. Busick is a 2010 graduate of St. George’s University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked as a veterinarian at CVH since 2012, and will be a familiar face to many of you. Dr. Russell plans to remain at the hospital through July. Dr. Shaw will remain a veterinarian with hospital for the next couple of years.
CVH will remain a friendly and familiar house of wellness for all pets and their owners. We wish to thank all of you for your trust and confidence.
