Dr. Matt Busick

Practice Owner/ Veterinarian

Dr. Matt Busick joined the practice in 2012. He is happy to be back with CVH after getting his start as a technician here many years ago. Dr. Busick earned his veterinary degree from St. George’s University, and spent time in Oregon and Virginia prior to joining CVH. He enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but has a strong interest in surgery and dentistry. During his time away from the hospital, he enjoys the outdoors, cycling, and travel. Dr. Busick lives in Centreville with his wife and two children.  He has a Chesapeake Retriever named, Nellie, an Irish terrier named, Penny, and a senior terrier mix, named Tucker.  Dr. Busick also shares his home with Pierre, the cat and the most recent addition of Dani, the guinea pig!

Dr. Jordan Rogers-Cotrone

Veterinarian

Dr. Rogers-Cotrone joined our practice in July 2019. He attended Virginia Tech from 2004 to 2008 and graduated from Ross University in 2013. Dr. Rogers-Cotrone has known that he wanted to be a veterinarian since he was 15 years old. He currently has three Yorkshire terriers named Artemis, Abby and Doctor Baker, and on the days he is not seeing your family pets, he enjoys taking his pets to the river to play.

Dr. Marian Shaw

Veterinarian

Dr. Marian Shaw is a graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary medicine at Virginia Tech. Her undergraduate studies were at Tufts University where she studied animal behavior. Dr. Shaw’s main interests in veterinary medicine are laser surgery, sports medicine, pet birds, and exotic pets. She does volunteer work in wildlife medicine. She has worked with veterinarians at The National Zoo and Sea World. Dr. Shaw lives on a farm with her husband, Doug Dobbin, and her dogs and llamas. Her hobbies include being a 4H leader, teaching the Llama Project, and dog agility. She raises, trains, and shows Labrador Retrievers and Norfolk Terriers.

Dr Davis

Dr. Davis

Veterinarian

Dr. Davis is originally from Crofton, MD.  She attended undergrad at Millersville University of PA, majoring in Biology with a concentration in Animal Behavior, as well as double-minoring. She attended veterinary school at  Ross University in St. Kitts and completed her clinical year at Oregon State.

She has a special interest in surgery and had the opportunity to complete an externship at a large specialty hospital in Rhode Island. In her spare time she enjoys reading as well as sketching, painting, and calligraphy. In the summers she helps coach youth lacrosse in the Annapolis area.

She shares her home with  a wire-haired fox terrier. While in undergrad she played lacrosse.

Cheryl Murphy

Cheryl Murphy, CVPM, CCFP

Hospital Administrator

Cheryl joined the Chesapeake Vet Hospital family in September 2019 she started her veterinary career in 1990 with roles as assistant, technician, and receptionist at companion animal practices, followed by management positions in companion, mixed and referral/specialty practices. In 2010, she became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). Cheryl has taught at Chesapeake College, lecturing on resume preparation and interviewing skills, and also helping to coach newer managers in the profession. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional. She is an active member of the VHMA and serves as a member of the Industry Advisory Panel. Dedicated to her profession, she recently became a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP) Cheryl enjoys spending time away from work with her husband, cats, dog, chickens and 6 children and 2 grandsons! Her special interests outside of work are traveling,  gardening and mushroom foraging.

Kim

Veterinary Technician

Kim has worked as a veterinary technician since 1999 and has been with CVH since 2005. Prior to that, she worked in the human health field. Kim has special interests in surgery and dentistry. Kim has two sons and grandchildren whom she enjoys spending time with. She also enjoys music and outdoor activities, especially during the summer.

Miranda

Registered Veterinary Technician

Miranda has been with Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital since 2012. She has been in the veterinary field since 1997. After graduating from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA in 2001, she became a Registered Veterinary Technician in Maryland. Miranda enjoys many aspects of her job, but has special interests in surgery and dentistry. She and her husband, Jason, live in Queenstown with their German Shepherd, Waylon

Anne Marie

Client Care Specialist

Anne Marie has been employed at CVH as a client care specialist for nearly 20 years. She is always greeting our clients with a cheerful smile. A Kent Island native, Anne Marie enjoys spending time with her animals which include dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, miniature horses, birds, rabbits, and fish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 5 children, and the rest of her large family–especially her 2 granddaughters, Riley and Naomi.

Donna has been employed at CVH since 1993 as a veterinary assistant and now primarily as a client care specialist. She enjoys meeting and greeting clients and their pets. Donna lives on Kent Island with her husband, 2 children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time at home reading and watching movies.

Client Care Specialist

Helena joined our team the Summer of 2021 and has jumped right in. You may have seen her at the front desk or filing in the back, maybe she answered the phone when you called or greeted you when you arrived at the office. She does it all! Helena is a Kent Island native and loves spending time with her son Dee, family and friends. She loves to travel and any time spent out on the water but most of all loving on just about any animal. We are confident you will enjoy interacting with Helena as much as we do!

Veterinary Technician

Tricia has been with CVH since 2021 and has aspired to work in the veterinary industry since she was a little girl. She aspires to learn as much as she can while working and going to college and then go to veterinary school. Tricia has 2 dogs and enjoys spending time with her family when she isn’t working or in school. She has a special interest in surgery and spends a great deal of time watching and learning about a variety of different veterinary surgeries on the internet. We think she is going to be an amazing veterinarian!

Shelley

Veterinary Technician

Shelley is one of our Veterinary Technicians, joining CVH in 2017. She has worked as a veterinary technician for well over 15 years. Before that, her four-legged friends kept her busy as a trainer. Animal behavior is her passion. She also enjoys fishing, crabbing, and cooking for her family. Shelley lives in Chester with her 3 dogs, all of which make her smile daily.

Veterinary Technician

Brooke joined the CVH team as a kennel technician in December 2019. She is currently a full-time student at Chesapeake College and is studying biological sciences. After Chesapeake, Brooke hopes to transfer to the University of Maryland Baltimore County to study animal science with the goal of becoming a veterinarian for farm animals. Outside of CVH, Brooke likes to read, bake, and spend time with her family and friends. She also loves to play with her cats, Anastasia, Leon and rabbit, Peanut.

Veterinary Technician

Daisy has been with us since the Spring of 2021. She graduated from the Chesapeake College Veterinary Assistant course and wowed us when she did her clinical hours with us. Daisy is very kind and friendly with all patients, clients and co-workers. She enjoys learning and has grown into a very skilled technician. She also serves as our interpreter as she is bi-lingual!

Veterinary Technician

Jessica joined the CVH team in 2021 and is originally from Vermont. She has been a Technician since 2008 and thoroughly enjoys working with our exotics that come through. She is an avid hiker and camper in her spare time and shares her home with her husband and their long hair chihuahua, Tulah, who is 12. You will often find Jess assisting you throughout your pet’s visit in the exam room.

Veterinary Technician

Kristi is a high school student with big dreams of becoming a psychiatrist. She lives in Centreville with her 9 siblings, 2 dogs, and 4 cats. Kristi has always loved animals, her favorite place in the world is her grandfather’s farm filled with chickens, cows, and horses. Kristi also enjoys any form of art and spends most of her free time painting and singing. Kristi joined the CVH team in December 2019.

Kennel Technician

Brooke joined CVH in Spring of 2023. She is a high school student and hopes to one day become a veterinarian. She lives at home with her mother and her guinea pig, Clover. Brooke is a very optimistic and ambitious person. Being able to help and take care of animals at this practice puts a huge smile on her face! In her free time she enjoys reading, photography, and being on her schools Varsity Dance Team.
